DISCOVERY DAY
Could you help with the College Discovery days for students who want to find out more about Health and Social care course?
We need two health and social care and two childcare students to help running activities for the day, to support future students, and to assist members of staff in the smooth running of the day and to ensure that the college provides excellent services and information to all our perspective students
It is on THURSDAY 6 MARCH from 4 to 6pm.
You can be paid for this via Student Crew. If you are not yet trained, it is possible to have a one to one session before the day. See Lynn and Carmen if this interests you

Please arrive on time and actively contribute to Unity Day. I have booked you into a variety of workshops which I hope will be insightful and support you in your journey to work in health and social care. Lisa will be asking you to write a review of atleast one of the workshops, so you may want to write notes to support this! I also welcome your comments below on how you find Unity Day

apprenticeship opportunity
Apprentice in Social Care Countywide Closing Date 28/02/14
A one year apprenticeship programme. Undertake the role of a Day Support Worker and a Supported Living Worker.
Successful apprentices will be placed as near as possible to their current address.
£13,725 per annum
We have 1200 staff across Hertfordshire. The work settings will be Day Services based around Hertfordshire and will include working in local community services Supported Living units vary from 4 bed units to 20 bed units – these are people’s homes.
Working for HCC Health & Community Services, within various Day Services & Supported Living social care settings across Hertfordshire.
This will include:
Placement one, undertaking supporting people with their day care.
Placement two, working with people in their supported living unit / home.
This role requires flexibility and there will be an expectation that individuals will undertake personal care as part of their job role once fully trained.
The Apprenticeship programme is four days a week on placement and one day release for a qualification day.
Each apprentice will have a work place supervisor on site.
