ReplyDeleteSMALL GROUP TEAM MEETING 4th October 2013
ReplyDeleteMinutes/Notes from scribes
Fire Station Trip: How should we behave during this and how can this help us with our studies?
We should wear light clothing, for example, boys could wear jeans, trackies, etc. Girls can wear leggings, light tops, comfortable shoes. We should be sensible at all times. We should be respectful, remembering we have to represent the college. We must be respectful to the firefighters and ask questions. This trip will show us more about health and safety. It will prepare us if there is a fire and we would know what to do. Gives us an insight of what fire fighters do.
Behaviour and communication: How are we experiencing this in class? What can be improved?
We should not talk over each other. We should behave so you are able to get your work done. We should listen to others, focus and be respectful towards each other.
Mixing up groups is good. Everyone should leave arguments outside the class. Speak to the teacher after lesson if you do not agree with something and enjoy lessons. Some people’s behaviour is inappropriate. Some people turn up late which distract other students. People are talking.
Communication Event: Brief recap of what this involves and what we can do to show respect to our guests
It is important to listen to others when they are talking. We need to show effective verbal and non verbal communication, including eye contact, facial expressions and hand gestures. We should listen to the professionals that come in and share experiences with them too. It is important to pay interest. To pay respect we should speak nicely, listen to what the guests say, ask questions, make sure you have eye contact with them, get involved, look interested, write notes down on what they say.
Projects: Recap on projects we are completing over the year.
Public Relations; 5 Ways to wellbeing; Safety First (E-Unit); Fair Play: Don’t hate or discriminate; Pathways
Good points and bad points so far
Getting to know new people; some people are bringing problems into class; everyone gets along. We are all communicating well in group discussions. Some people have poor behaviour/concentration/lateness.
